This is more than Goa has seen in previous years. Focus on Good Tourism The Goa government wants to make sure tourism is good for everyone. They want to attract tourists who respect the environment and help the local economy. This is part of their plan for “Regenerative Tourism,” which means tourism that benefits the community, the environment, and the economy for a long time. Where Did the Tourists Come From? Most of the tourists were from India, with 1,02,84,608 (10.2 million) domestic visitors. But, over 5,17,802 (5,17,000) people came from other countries to enjoy Goa’s beaches and culture. How Did They Get Here? Charter Flights: In the past, many foreign tourists arrived on special charter flights. While these are still important, the numbers have changed over the years.

Regular Flights: More and more tourists are now arriving on regular international flights. The new airport, Manohar International Airport, is helping with this.
Cruise Ships: Cruise ships also bring tourists to Goa. While cruise tourism slowed down during the pandemic, it’s now starting to pick up again. Growth Over the Years Goa’s tourism has grown a lot over the years, with some ups and downs: Before the Pandemic: Tourism was growing steadily in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
After the Pandemic: Tourism started to recover in 2023 and 2024.
2025: A record-breaking year! What It Means Goa’s Tourism Minister, Rohan Khaunte, says these numbers show that Goa’s tourism industry is strong. The government’s efforts to improve transportation and make Goa a great place to visit are paying off. More people are visiting Goa, which is good for the state’s economy.
