Addressing a press conference at the Indore Press Club on Saturday, Youth Congress National President Uday Bhanu Chib leveled serious allegations against the BJP and the state government. He said incidents like Bhagirathpura are not happening for the first time, but those responsible remain indifferent. Chib described statements made by BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya as irresponsible and demanded his immediate resignation. He also called for filing a case of culpable homicide against the Mayor. During the press conference, while listing the names of prominent freedom fighters, Uday Bhanu referred to Muhammad Ali Jinnah as “Jinnaji” and emphasised that the country’s independence was achieved through the sacrifices of our forefathers. He strongly criticised the BJP for its negligence and disregard for public life. Read Uday Bhanu Chib’s full statement Uday Bhanu said: The British did not grant independence easily. Our ancestors gave their lives; it was their sacrifice. Many leaders were imprisoned—Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Jinnaji. Thousands and hundreds of others also sacrificed their lives, and it was after their sacrifices that the country attained freedom. Freedom struggle references stir controversy While addressing the media, Chib invoked the sacrifices of freedom fighters, including Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and, controversially, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, whom he referred to as “Jinnaji.” He said, “The British did not give independence easily. Our ancestors lost their lives in this struggle. Thousands sacrificed everything for the country to attain freedom.” Chib used this reference to underline his criticism of the BJP, alleging that the party treats citizens’ lives with equal disregard. Deaths linked to BJP negligence Commenting on the Bhagirathpura case, Chib said, “This is not the first time such incidents have occurred in Indore. Even before this, children and ordinary citizens lost their lives due to BJP’s negligence. The statements of BJP leaders make it clear they have no concern for public lives.” Demand for minister’s resignation Referring to Vijayvargiya, Chib said, “Such people should not even be allowed to walk on the streets, yet the BJP has made him a minister. He must resign immediately.” He reiterated that complaints had been filed continuously for six months, but authorities and public representatives remained inactive, allowing the situation to escalate. Uday Bhanu Chib: A political profile Hailing from Paloura, Jammu, Chib is the son of Congress leader Hari Singh Chib. He began his political career with the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), serving as Jammu-Kashmir NSUI president and later as national general secretary. He also served as state Youth Congress president before being elevated to the national Youth Congress president by the party leadership. BJP reacts sharply Reacting to Chib’s statements, BJP MLA from Indore 3, Golu Shukla, called the remarks “highly condemnable,” adding, “It is a matter of great shame that the Congress has appointed a person who refers to Jinnah as ‘Jinnah Ji’ as Youth Congress president. This again exposes Congress’s love for Pakistan.” Post navigation Bhopal gangster ‘Rehman Daket’ arrested in Surat:Led criminal network in 14 states spreading terror for 20 years flaunting horses and luxury cars ₹1.25 lakh Bullet stolen in 25 seconds in Ujjain:Thieves on bike break lock with their foot, then flee with motorcycle; CCTV footage emerges
