Blackmail drives young man to end his life:Suicide note names 4 people demanding money, including head constable, video shared on social media

A young man, Anantram Patel, ended his life late Thursday after allegedly being blackmailed by the police. He left a four-page suicide note and a video, which he posted on social media. In his note, Patel named four people, including Head Constable Laxmi Rawat of Amarpattan police station. He accused them of demanding 5 lakh rupees by threatening to file false criminal cases. His mobile number was also mentioned in the note. Threatened – Give money, or we will implicate you in a false case
In the video made before his suicide, Anantram said, “I am going to die. Ramgopal, Reshma, Sudha, Himanshu are responsible for my death. They have swindled 5 lakh rupees from me. These people used to blackmail me, saying they would implicate me in false cases. Ramgopal took 2 lakh from me. Reshma took 40 thousand. Sudha took 50 thousand. Himanshu took 50 thousand.” These people are constantly harassing us. Yesterday too, Ramgopal demanded 3 lakh rupees from us. Where will I get so much money from? They pressured us to give money, otherwise they would implicate us in a false case, which is why we are going to die. These people have harassed us a lot. Now there is a police officer, Mr. Kol, whose number I have written in the suicide note. He took 1 lakh rupees from me today, January 8th. He is demanding another 1 lakh rupees. He says to give another 1 lakh, otherwise he will file a case, which is why we are dying. Strict action should be taken against them. Daughter said – no money even for the last rites
Anantram’s body was found hanging from a noose on a Kadamba tree by the roadside. When the police arrived at the scene, the family protested. They prevented the body from being taken for post-mortem. They allege that late at night, the police took Anantram from his home to the police station, and then his body was found. Daughter Khushi Patel said – there is no money even for the last rites at home.
