On Thursday, a threatening email to blow up the newly constructed District Court building in Rewa triggered panic in the police and administration. The email was received by the District and Sessions Judge at around 8:30 AM, mentioning a deadline until 2:30 PM. Taking the threat seriously, the Principal District Judge immediately forwarded the message to the SP, following which security agencies were put on high alert. Police and the bomb squad rushed to the court premises, which were cordoned off from all sides, and security arrangements were tightened. Court premises evacuated Lawyers’ chambers were evacuated. Employees, lawyers, and other people present in the court premises were moved out. Police have also activated the cyber cell to trace the source of the threatening message. Efforts are being made to find out from which number or medium the message was sent and who is behind it. Along with this, footage from CCTV cameras installed in and around the court premises is also being scanned. Currently, there has been no official confirmation of finding any suspicious object during the search. As a precautionary measure, security at the court premises has been tightened.
