Teacher slaps student, child falls, hand fractured:Private school in Satna accused of beating student for unfinished homework, management denies CCTV footage

A six-year-old UKG student was slapped by her teacher at a private school in Satna for not doing her homework. The child fell down and fractured her hand. A plaster was put on her hand. Her father has filed a police complaint and demanded strict action against the teacher. The incident took place at CMA School in Amaudha on Tuesday. The family came to know about the fracture on Wednesday morning. The child, who lives in Chauhan Nagar in Patery, studies in UKG at CMA School. She went to school as usual on Tuesday. The father alleges that due to the slap, the child lost her balance. She fell to the ground. After returning home from school, late in the evening, the child complained of pain in her hand. Her mother applied balm to it. After which, she ate her food and went to sleep. On Wednesday morning, when the girl was woken up for school, swelling was visible on her hand. Her family immediately took her to the district hospital. An X-ray confirmed a fracture in the girl’s hand. The doctor put a cast on her hand. The father took his daughter to the Civil Line Police Station and lodged a written complaint against the teacher. School did not provide CCTV footage
After filing a complaint with the police, the girl’s father also went to CMA School. Here he met the principal and informed her about the entire incident. He said that the girl could not do her homework because it was her younger sister’s birthday. He demanded to see the footage from the CCTV camera installed in the classroom, but the school management said that the camera had been out of order for several days. The family has alleged that physical violence is being inflicted on children in the school in the name of discipline, which is a crime under the law. Meanwhile, the school or the principal has not given any reaction on the matter. TI Yogendra Singh Parihar said that a case has been registered against the school teacher based on the father’s complaint. The entire matter is being investigated.
