A coaching institute owner was killed after a speeding car hit him near the Gwalior Trade Fair gate under Gole Ka Mandir police station area on Monday, said police.
CCTV footage of the accident shows the victim being thrown nearly 20 meters and colliding with a road divider. He suffered eight broken ribs, a severe head injury, and a fractured leg, and died during treatment. Victim identified The deceased has been identified as Mukesh Kushwaha, a resident of Sati Vihar Colony on Sagartal Road and a coaching center owner. According to his family, Mukesh had attended a job interview at the trade fair. The accident occurred when he was crossing the road after parking his vehicle. Family demands arrest of driver Frustrated over the lack of action against the accused driver even 24 hours after the incident, Mukesh’s family blocked the road for two-and-a-half hours on Tuesday, keeping his body at the accident site. They demanded the arrest of the driver and the release of CCTV footage. His brother-in-law, Manish Kushwaha, accused the police of not showing CCTV footage, even though clear footage existed from a fairground camera. The family also revealed that Mukesh’s four-year-old daughter had been waiting for her father late into the night. The child and mother were not informed about his death immediately. Upon learning the news, police and administration officials arrived at the scene. After interventions by senior Congress leader Sunil Sharma and social workers, the family agreed to take the body for the last rites. Police statement According to the CSP Atul Soni, the accident occurred in the Gole Ka Mandir police station area. He confirmed that the road blockade was cleared, and the body handed over to the family. The case is currently under investigation.
