Two brothers died in a house fire in a village in Naryawali, Sagar district. Their sister was scorched. Now this case has taken a new turn. The girl has accused a young man of setting the house on fire. Police have registered a rape case against the accused Faeem alias Chhotu Khan. He has been arrested and sent to jail. Details from the night of December 4 Police registered an arson case When the fire broke out, the door latch was locked from outside Mother alleges long-term harassment by Faeem The mother of the girl burnt in the December 4 fire narrated the events leading up to the incident. She said she had gone to Sagar with her younger daughter when a call from Faeem made her daughter cry. The daughter said Faeem was sending abusive and threatening messages. When confronted, Faeem reportedly said the daughter should have returned in two days and threatened, ‘You will have to come in the middle of the night.’ The mother alleged that immediately after this, their house caught fire, forcing them to return to the village. She claimed Faeem had been harassing her younger daughter for about five years, causing daily disputes, and that they had even visited his house to complain, though no police complaint was filed. On the day of the fire, all three children were in serious condition, so she could not give a statement. The elder daughter had given a statement, but her allegations against Faeem were not recorded. Rape case registered against Faeem, sent to jail Amidst the investigation into the fire incident, the younger daughter of the family filed a complaint application against Faeem Khan at the women’s police station, stating that Faeem Khan took her to a hotel in Sagar, where he raped her. She was also threatened. Based on the complaint, the women’s police station registered a case against Faeem Khan under sections including rape. The court has sent the accused to jail. Questions arising in the incident Human Rights Commission sought response from SP The National Human Rights Commission has taken cognisance of the arson incident. The Commission has issued a notice to Sagar SP, instructing them to investigate the allegations made in the complaint regarding the arson incident in the village and to submit an action report within two weeks for the Commission’s review. Investigating all aspects of the case Additional SP Lokesh Sinha stated, An investigation is underway regarding the house fire. All aspects related to the case, including the allegations made by the family, are being investigated. Further action will be taken in the matter after the investigation.
