In Bhagirathpura, Indore, 14 people have died so far due to consuming contaminated water. One of the victims, 43-year-old Arvind, son of Hiralal from Kulkarni Bhatta, fell ill after visiting Bhagirathpura for work on Sunday. He experienced vomiting and diarrhea and was initially treated at home before being taken to a private hospital, where he died. Arvind leaves behind his wife and three children and was the only son of his parents. Currently, 162 people are admitted to hospitals. On Wednesday evening, Dr. Mohan Yadav arrived in Indore. He visited various hospitals and met the sick people. After this, he held a meeting with officials. The CM said in the meeting, Such a distressing situation should never arise again, all of you should get involved in making comprehensive arrangements for it. Regarding action against responsible senior officials in the matter, he said, Strict action will be taken against the culprits after receiving the report. After attending a meeting, Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya faced media questions about patients’ relatives not receiving refunds for treatment. He initially dismissed the query, saying, ‘Oh, leave it, don’t ask useless questions.’ When the reporter insisted it was not useless, the minister, annoyed, used abusive language. Shortly after, he expressed regret for his words in a tweet on X. Congress demanded Vijayvargiya’s resignation Congress state president Jitu Patwari, tagging the Chief Minister, wrote on X – ‘@drmohanyadav51 ji, what kind of spectacle is your government and your ministers creating? Neither are the victims getting free treatment, nor sympathy, and on top of that, your arrogant ministers are using abusive language. If there is even a little shame left, then immediately take the resignation of such ill-mannered ministers on moral grounds.’ HC demands status report from state government Two public interest litigations have been filed at the Indore High Court over deaths from contaminated water in Bhagirathpura, one by Ritesh Insani, President of the Indore High Court Bar Association, and the other by resident Rahul Gaikwad. The High Court held a joint hearing on Wednesday, with Senior Advocates Abhinav Dhanotkar and Rishi Kumar Choukse highlighting the worsening situation, rising hospital admissions, and increasing deaths. The government’s advocate stated that all Bhagirathpura patients are being treated free in 10 Indore hospitals.
