From January 1, the Railways will change the arrival and departure timings of 26 trains at Bhopal, Rani Kamalapati and Sant Hirdaram Nagar (Bairagarh) stations. The Railways has released a new timetable. Under this, the Bhopal–Indore Intercity will now leave 10 minutes later than before. Timings of trains going to and coming from many cities, including Jaipur, Jodhpur, Rewa, Agartala, Gwalior, Bilaspur, Bina, Kota, Mysore, Darbhanga, Delhi, Kanyakumari, Patna and Prayagraj, have also been changed. According to the Railways, most trains at these three Bhopal stations will see a timing change of 5 to 15 minutes. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria said the new timetable will come into effect from January 1. The new reservation system of 10-hour advance reservation chart will also be implemented in Bhopal Division from January 1, 2026. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Kataria informed that for trains departing between 2:01 PM and 11:59 PM, and between 12 AM and 5 AM, their first reservation chart will now be prepared at least 10 hours in advance. This will facilitate passengers on the waiting list to make timely decisions. As the first reservation chart for trains will now be prepared 10 hours prior to their departure time, applications for emergency quota will be accepted one day in advance. Relief will also be provided in commuting to and from the station
The new system will relieve passengers from unnecessary commuting to and from the station. Additionally, uncertainty and mental stress in long-distance journeys will be reduced.
