Indian markets rebound in early trade on New Year’s eve:Nifty reclaims 26,000 mark; metals shine as 2025’s last trading session draws to a close

The Indian equity benchmarks rebounded in early trade on New Year’s eve on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, amid the environment of thin year-end trading volumes as investors stayed away from the Dalal Street and enjoyed the holiday season. The Sensex 30 advanced in early trade to 84,910.22 points by 11:30 am and Nifty 50 reclaimed the 26,000 mark. 25 out of 30 Sensex stocks are rising. 40 out of 50 Nifty stocks are trading higher. All sectors on NSE are showing gains. Media, Metal, Oil and Gas sectors are leading. In other Asian markets, the trading was mixed Domestic investors bought shares worth ₹6,160 crore Market traded flat yesterday On the second trading day of the week today, December 30, the stock market traded flat. Sensex closed down 20 points at 84,675. Nifty saw a marginal decline of 3 points, closing at 25,938.
