Politics has intensified in Madhya Pradesh over a statement made by Congress state president Jitu Patwari about “exile”. During an informal interaction with party workers in Indore on Monday, Patwari said that he himself was living in exile. His comment triggered a political reaction, with the BJP strongly attacking the Congress leadership. Reacting to the remark, BJP city president Sumit Mishra said Congress leaders start calling it exile when they are not in power. He said Patwari expected power benefits after becoming PCC president, but that did not happen. Mishra also claimed that Patwari had pushed senior leaders Kamal Nath and Digvijaya Singh into political exile. Congress: Many senior leaders displeased with current leadership According to Mishra, many senior Congress leaders, displeased with the current leadership, are working for the BJP. He said that when Congress is out of power and is forced to go among the public, it feels like an exile to them. Finally, he quipped that Digvijaya Singh has already completed the Narmada Parikrama once, lest the entire Congress has to go on a Narmada Parikrama. Digvijaya had praised BJP organization Actually, Digvijaya Singh had praised the organizational structure of RSS and BJP by sharing an old picture on social media platform X on December 27. Narendra Modi and Lal Krishna Advani are visible in the picture. In his post, Digvijaya Singh had written – This is a very impressive picture. How a grassroots volunteer of RSS and a BJP worker became the Chief Minister of the state and the Prime Minister of the country by sitting on the floor at the feet of the leaders. This shows the strength of “organization”. Former MP’s daughter said – he broke morale Congress leaders openly opposed Digvijaya’s statement. Nidhi Chaturvedi, daughter of former Rajya Sabha MP Satyavrat Chaturvedi and Congress leader, demanded disciplinary action against Digvijaya Singh through a Facebook post. Nidhi alleged that Digvijaya Singh’s statement has weakened the party’s ideological struggle. It has broken the morale of grassroots workers. Nidhi wrote – Digvijaya Singh’s recent statement has slapped Rahul Gandhi and all those grassroots workers who are fighting on the streets against the ideology of RSS and BJP. As a senior Congress leader, it was his responsibility to sharpen the party’s ideological struggle, and not to break the morale of his own workers by praising the opposition camp. His ‘absurd’ statements, made to stay in the headlines, have deeply hurt the self-respect of every true Congressman today. Vijaywargiya said – showed courage Senior BJP leader and Urban Administration Minister Kailash Vijaywargiya has now openly come out in support of Digvijaya Singh. Vijaywargiya supported Digvijaya Singh’s statement on X on Monday. He wrote that ideological differences are natural in a democracy, but one should also have the courage to speak the truth, which not everyone possesses. Congress leader Digvijaya Singh has shown his courage by praising the RSS. However, this must have certainly reduced his standing in the Delhi Durbar, but Digvijaya Singh has followed the tradition of leaders like Sardar Patel and others from the 1950s within the Congress who dared to speak the truth. This is the true beauty of democracy.
