Politics has intensified in Madhya Pradesh over a statement made by Congress state president Jitu Patwari about “exile”. During an informal interaction with party workers in Indore on Monday, Patwari said that he himself was living in exile. His comment triggered a political reaction, with the BJP strongly attacking the Congress leadership. Reacting to the remark, BJP city president Sumit Mishra said Congress leaders start calling it exile when they are not in power. He said Patwari expected power benefits after becoming PCC president, but that did not happen.
