Keeping Simhastha 2028 in mind, the central government has begun preparations to improve travel between Indore and Ujjain. As part of this plan, a Vande Bharat Metro train will be started on the Indore–Ujjain route. The train will run on the existing railway track, so no new track will be built. It will operate at a speed of up to 160 km per hour and will run as a shuttle service between the two cities. The railway has already successfully tested the track at a speed of 180 km per hour on this route. Vande Bharat Metro will run on the current railway track Indore MP Shankar Lalwani informed that keeping in view the increasing pressure of passengers during the upcoming Simhastha, the railway department has made extensive preparations. More than 300 trains will be operated from Indore, Ujjain and nearby stations. For this, the railway has intensified its preparations. Vande Bharat Metro will be run as a shuttle service between Indore and Ujjain. MP Lalwani informed that the Vande Bharat Metro will run on the existing railway tracks. Usually, a separate track is required for metros, but for this service, there will be no need to lay new tracks. The journey of Vande Bharat Metro between Indore and Ujjain will be approximately 40 to 45 minutes. This train will be equipped with modern facilities, including AC and non-AC coaches. It is worth noting that the Vande Bharat Metro running on the Indore-Ujjain route will also be known as ‘Namo Bharat Train’. Special coaches are being prepared According to railway sources, the Vande Bharat Metro train will be a world-class 12-coach train. Its coaches are being specially designed, which will have all modern facilities like a metro. The first train will start in Kashi. After this, this facility will be available from Indore to Ujjain. According to sources, this train will be capable of accelerating to more than 50 kilometers per hour in just 5 seconds. Around two thousand passengers will also be able to travel standing According to information received from railway officials, the Vande Bharat Metro train, which will run on the Indore-Ujjain route before Simhastha, will have 12 coaches. It will have a seating capacity of more than 1150 passengers, while approximately two thousand passengers will also be able to travel standing. According to officials, the Vande Bharat Metro train has been specially designed for high speed. On some routes, its maximum design speed is 180 kilometers per hour, while the operational speed has been set at 160 kilometers per hour. Laxmibai Nagar Station being prepared for Simhastha Laxmibai Nagar Railway Station is being developed at an estimated cost of 55 crore rupees. This includes 45 crore rupees for station development work and 10 crore rupees for the construction of a foot overbridge. This station is being upgraded keeping Simhastha-2028 in mind. According to information, the construction work of Laxmibai Nagar Railway Station will be completed by January 2026, while the station is expected to be fully operational from February. Simhastha-2028 to feature 3 Royal Snans and 7 Festival Snans This grand festival, running from March 27 to May 27, 2028, will have 3 Royal Snans and 7 Festival Snans. It is estimated that Ujjain will become a confluence of faith for over 300 million devotees this time. To manage this two-month event, modern facilities worth over 200 billion rupees are being developed. While 50 to 70 million devotees attended the Simhastha in 2016, this time the number is expected to increase almost sixfold.
