In Rewa, a speeding car hit a motorcyclist with such force that the rider was thrown several feet into the air. Locals caught the allegedly drunk driver while he tried to escape and handed him over to the police. The incident took place on Saturday near the Sai Temple in Rewa city. The motorcyclist was flung nearly six feet into the air on impact, before crashing onto the road. Both hit pole after collision After the initial impact, both the car and the motorcyclist struck a roadside pole. The force of the crash caused panic in the area. Local residents said there was chaos immediately after the accident. People ran in different directions to avoid further harm. Traffic in the area came to a halt for some time due to the accident. Injured rider found writhing in pain Witnesses said the motorcyclist was lying on the road, writhing in pain. People nearby rushed to help him. An ambulance was called immediately, and the injured man was taken to hospital for treatment. Local residents alleged that the car driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. After the accident, the driver tried to flee from the scene. Locals hand over accused to police People present at the spot chased the driver and caught him. He was then handed over to the police. Police Station In-charge Pushpendra Mishra confirmed that the driver has been taken into custody. A medical examination is being conducted to confirm whether the driver was drunk.
