A 22-year-old woman from Tilwara, Jabalpur, was allegedly raped by a clerk and a peon of Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University, who lured her to the campus on the pretext of offering a job. The incident occurred on the night of December 25. The woman managed to escape and filed an FIR at Adhartal police station the next day. Acting swiftly, police arrested the accused from their homes. Their statements were recorded on Friday, and after being presented in court, both were sent to jail. The victim told the police during interrogation that she was first called home on the pretext of getting a job and then raped. She kept screaming, but he didn’t listen. After the incident, both of them took the young woman out of the university campus and threatened her, saying that if she remained silent, she would get the job, otherwise, she would be defamed. Woman reached police station on Friday The victim somehow reached home on Thursday night and narrated the entire incident to her family. On Friday, Adhartal police station registered a case against Babu and Peon under rape sections based on the young woman’s complaint, started a search, and arrested them from their homes within a few hours.
