Indian cricketer Arshdeep Singh struggled a lot to become Team India’s main bowler and a cricket star. He used to cycle 20 kilometres daily to the academy for cricket training. After witnessing such a condition, his family was preparing to send him abroad for a better future, asking him to quit cricket. However, after achieving success, he has now bought a Mercedes worth ₹3.5 crore and a luxurious house in Mohali. Now the Indian cricketer has shared this journey of his life in an 18-second video. His father, Darshan Singh, works for a private company. When Arshdeep was born, his father was posted in Madhya Pradesh. Arshdeep is also a bowler. His father recognised his passion for cricket. He saw him bowling in the park. Then, at the age of 13, he took him to the Guru Nanak Dev School Cricket Academy in Sector-36, Chandigarh, where his coaching began. Arshdeep’s father was posted outside. In such a situation, reaching the Chandigarh ground from Kharar at six in the morning was not easy, as it was a journey of about 15 kilometres. So, Arshdeep Singh’s mother used to bring him on a bicycle in the morning and stay there. After school, she would make him sit in the park and feed him. After that, she would send him back to the academy and take him home in the evening. He had to struggle a lot in the initial days. Family had prepared to send him to Canada Arshdeep Singh was not being selected for the Punjab team, which worried his family. In such a situation, his parents decided to send him to Canada to his brother. They discussed this with his coach. When the coach discussed this with Arshdeep, he said that he wanted to play cricket. On the coach’s advice, Arshdeep told this to his family. His family gave him one year’s time. After this, Arshdeep worked hard on the ground, and then he was selected for Punjab’s Under-19 team. After this, he played in the Under-19 World Cu,p and then this journey continued. Recognised variations and mastered them When Arshdeep Singh was playing in the U-19 World Cup, his troubles were not few, even then. Because there were three bowlers ahead of him in terms of speed. So he started working on variations. He used to bowl good yorkers in the death overs, so he worked on his yorkers. He worked on slower deliveries and line and length.
