A pickup truck caught fire late Tuesday night on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Alwar, resulting in the deaths of three people due to severe burns. One seriously injured individual has been referred to Jaipur for advanced treatment. The incident occurred around 1 AM near the Raini police station area. ASI Mohammad Amin stated that the pickup truck was reportedly hit on the driver’s side by another vehicle, causing the fire to break out immediately after the collision. All three bodies were found trapped in their seats. Identities of the deceased According to ASI Amin, the victims have been identified as- The injured driver, Hanny, a resident of Jhajjar, Haryana, received initial treatment at the site and was referred to Jaipur in critical condition. Chaos on the expressway The fire caused panic on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, with several vehicles stopping nearby. Residents reported that by the time rescue operations commenced, the vehicle had been completely burnt. Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage installed along the expressway to determine which vehicle struck the pickup. The findings from this footage will clarify the circumstances leading to the collision. Recovery and notification of families The bodies were transported to the mortuary of Raini Hospital. Using the pickup truck’s registration number, police identified it as belonging to Jhajjar, Haryana, and informed the families of the deceased about the tragic accident.
