Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma reached Vrindavan on Tuesday to seek blessing from Premanand Ji Maharaj. The power couple have visited the saint previously two times, with this being their third visit. Following a highly successful ODI series against South Africa, wherein Virat Kohli struck two centuries and a half-century, the Indian batting sta visited Vrindavan along with his wife Anushka Sharma. The couple took part in a special spiritual interaction, Ekantik Vartalaap, with Premanand Ji Maharaj at his ashram, Shri Hit Radha Keli Kunj at Varah Ghat. During their visit, Virat and Anushka met Shri Hit Premanand Govind Sharan Ji Maharaj and sought his blessings. This marked their third visit to Vrindavan this year, having earlier travelled there with their children in January and May to receive the spiritual leader’s blessings. This marked the couple’s third visit this year, after earlier trips in January and May 2025, during which they sought spiritual guidance and blessings from Maharaj Ji. Premanand Maharaj preaches Virushka to be humble During the interaction, Premanand Maharaj Ji shared meaningful life lessons with the couple. He said, “Believe your workplace is a Temple, be polite and humble”, and further added, “We are all God’s children, he will take care of us. We are all united and bound by someone or others, like a chain.” Who is Premanand Maharaj? Premanand Maharaj’s education was only till 8th grade The story of Premanand Maharaj becoming a saint begins from Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. There is a tehsil called Narwal, where Premanand was born in Akhri village. His father is Shambhu Narayan Pandey and mother is Rama Devi. He has 3 brothers, Premanand is the middle one. His childhood name was Aniruddh Kumar Pandey. Father Shambhu worked as a priest. Aniruddh was also spiritual since childhood. In childhood, the whole family would sit together daily for worship and prayers. Aniruddh used to observe all this very carefully. Now often referred to as Premanand Maharaj, whose devotees include everyone from common people to celebrities, studied until 8th grade. The first ODI is scheduled to be played on 11 January at Kotambi, and the three-match ODI series will be India’s only assignment in the 50-over format till July 2026.
