A 9-year-old girl was brutally murdered in Khachrod, near Ujjain, in an attempted rape. The girl had come to her grandmother’s house. A man living in a nearby house first attempted to rape her. When she screamed, he hit her with a wooden paddle (mogri) and killed her. According to Khachrod police, the 9-year-old girl had come to her grandmother’s house with her two sisters on Sunday. The girl was admitted to a hospital in Ratlam in serious condition, where she died on Monday during treatment. Accused tried to mislead The children were sitting on the terrace with their grandmother. The girl was playing outside. Her sister was sent to call her, but she was nowhere to be seen. Around 5:45 PM, Riyaz Khan, a neighbor, brought the girl out of his house in an unconscious state. He said that the girl had fallen from above. She had injuries on her head, nose, mouth, and eyes. Blood was coming out. Her mouth was completely swollen. Immediately, she was taken to Khachrod hospital where the doctor checked her and referred her to Ratlam. On Monday, the child tragically died. Killed with a ‘Mogri’ Khachrod SDOP Akanksha Bichhote said that after talking to the doctor, it was found that there were no signs of the child falling. Instead, she was hit with a hard object. When police strictly interrogated Riyaz Khan, he revealed that he tried to molest the girl after finding her alone at home. When she started screaming, he first pushed her, which made her unconscious. The accused then put her in a sack beat her with a mogri (small wooden paddle used for washing clothes). Thinking she was dead, he left her. Later, when he checked, she was still breathing. After this, he took her to her grandmother in an injured state. The police have now arrested accused Riyaz Khan.
