He lived in a rented house in Adarsh Puram, Gwalior. He was practising law and was also pursuing a PhD. On Monday, he was found hanging in his room. Relationship and wedding plans According to the family, Mrityunjay had been in a relationship with a female sub-inspector posted in Morena for the past five years. Their marriage was fixed for December 30. His mother said he went to meet his fiancée a day earlier than planned. During the visit, he allegedly saw her in her room with another constable. This led to an argument and a physical scuffle. Complaint made, no action taken Family members claim that after the incident, Mrityunjay filed a complaint at the police station regarding the assault. However, no action was taken. He later called his mother and told her about the incident while crying. After this, he reportedly went into depression. Suicide note in social media status Before taking his life, Mrityunjay posted a status on social media. Mother learns of son’s Death Mrityunjay’s mother, Shivkumari, had travelled from Vijaypur to Gwalior on Monday to meet her son. Instead, she received the news of his suicide. His father lives in Vadodara, Gujarat, while his elder brother lives separately. The parents have been living apart for a long time. Emotional scene after body taken down After police removed the body, they handed over Mrityunjay’s bracelet, chain, and amulet to his mother. She broke down and said,“What will I do with these? God has taken away my true support.” She said her son had recently arranged her surgery in Delhi and used to call her daily to check on her health. Financial allegations by family The mother alleged that Mrityunjay had bought two plots in Gwalior in the name of his girlfriend using his own share of money. She said everything appeared normal and there were no earlier doubts. Scene inside the house Mrityunjay lived alone with his dog. He used a thin plastic rope to hang himself. Food was found cooking in the kitchen, with some food already eaten. An open liquor bottle and a glass were found nearby. A thick rope was also found in the room, raising suspicion of prior planning.
