A police team reached the site immediately after receiving information. The victim was taken to Sihora Health Centre, where doctors declared him dead. Victim identified The deceased has been identified as Dharmendra Singh Thakur, also known as Chintu, aged 45. Initial reports indicate that Dharmendra had ongoing disputes with certain individuals, though the police have not issued any official statement regarding this yet. Eyewitness account According to eyewitnesses, Dharmendra tried to escape when the attackers approached, but both assailants caught him. One threw him to the ground while the other fired three consecutive bullets at his head. Investigation underway Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify the attackers. Dharmendra’s mobile phone and call records are also being examined for any leads connected to the incident. Family points to history of enmity Dharmendra’s younger brother, Rahul Thakur, said that there had been a long-standing enmity between Dharmendra and Assu Vishwakarma, a resident of Sihora. A few years ago, Assu had also fired at Chintu, and the police had arrested him following an FIR. After being released from jail, Assu had again threatened Dharmendra. He is reportedly involved in multiple criminal cases, including assault, robbery, and dacoity. Rahul also mentioned that Dharmendra had previously contested elections for Sihora municipal council.
