Since 2013, Amazon has invested a total of $40 billion, which is ₹3.59 lakh crore in India, including employee salaries and infrastructure. This includes expansion of data centers in Telangana and Maharashtra. Overall, by 2030, this investment will be used to support logistics, storage and small businesses. According to Keystone Strategy’s report, Amazon has so far digitized more than 12 million (1.2 crore) small businesses and enabled e-commerce exports worth $20 billion (₹1.79 lakh crore). Focus on AI, Benefits for Millions Amazon considers AI to be a game-changer for India. The company plans to provide AI benefits to 14 million (1.4 crore) small businesses and hundreds of millions of shoppers. This includes LLM (Large Language Model) training and infrastructure support. Additionally, 4 million (40 lakh) government school students will be provided AI education and career exploration. This step matches with India’s national priority, where digital innovation is being pushed. Amazon says that AI will help small businesses improve their sales, customer service and inventory management. New Step to Boost Exports At the Smbhav Summit, Amazon announced a partnership with the Apparel Export Promotion Council of India. This partnership has been made under the initiative to promote exports, which will connect digital entrepreneurs with manufacturers so they can sell globally. For this, on-ground onboarding will happen in more than 10 manufacturing clusters, such as Tirupur, Kanpur and Surat. This partnership is manufacturing-focused and will help small businesses in exports. This has created millions of jobs and made Made-in-India products global.
