IAS and Madhya Pradesh Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Officers-Employees Association (AJAKS) president Santosh Verma found himself surrounded in a fresh controversy after a video went viral on social media in which he can he heard saying, “How many Santosh Vermas will you kill? How many will you burn? How many will you swallow? Now, every household will produce a Santosh Verma, and you won’t have the strength to burn them all.” The video’s date and location remain unclear. It resurfaced amid ongoing backlash over his previous controversial remarks regarding Brahmin daughters. Brahmin organisations demand action Responding to the viral video, Akhil Bhartiya Brahmin Samaj leader Pushpendra Mishra said, “Despite making derogatory comments about Brahmin daughters, no action has been taken against Verma. If an FIR is not filed soon, the community will be forced to protest.” Mishra questioned the source of Verma’s confidence and called on the Chief Minister to take immediate action. Verma claims remarks were part of internal meeting Speaking to Dainik Bhaskar, Verma clarified that the viral video was from an internal association meeting at the AJAKS office.
He said, “The statement was made during a discussion with association officials and workers. It references what Bhim Army MP Chandrashekhar said. Nothing wrong was said, and it was part of an internal meeting.” Government denies Verma as AJAKS President The Madhya Pradesh government informed the state Assembly that Santosh Verma is not recognised as the president of AJAKS.
According to official records, Mukesh Maurya is the recognised state president of the association. The clarification followed a question raised by MLA Rajendra Bharti. The General Administration Department confirmed the position in its December 2 reply. Registrar: Legitimacy of executive committee not determined by law The Registrar of Firms Societies stated in writing that officer-employee associations are not granted formal recognition, and the law does not provide for determining the legitimacy of their office-bearers.

Verma calls Maurya ‘fraudulent’ Verma claimed that Mukesh Maurya, recognised by the government as AJAKS president, is a “totally fraudulent” appointment.

Controversial statements at AJAKS provincial convention On November 23, 2025, Verma was elected state president of AJAKS at a provincial convention in Bhopal. During the event, he controversially said, “Reservation should be given to one person in a family until my son is married or receives a daughter from a Brahmin.” The state government issued Verma a notice on November 26, stating that his remarks during the Bhopal convention violated the expected conduct of Indian Administrative Service officers, amounting to indiscipline and serious misconduct. The notice cited violations of the All India Services Conduct Rules, 1967 and called for Verma to explain why disciplinary action under the All India Services (Discipline Appeal) Rules, 1969 should not be taken against him. Verma has been asked to respond within seven days, failing which the government may proceed unilaterally.
