retired-cmho’s-wife-found-dead,-naked-at-home-in-gwalior:neighbours-alert-police-after-no-activity-noticed,-foul-smell-raises-suspicion

The body of a retired CMHO’s wife was found naked inside her residence in Gwalior on Monday night. Police suspect the death occurred around five days ago. According to officials, 61-year-old Anita Sharma was living alone at her house opposite Akashdeep Apartment in City Centre Site No. 1. Her husband, who had served as the Chief Medical and Health Officer in Gwalior, had passed away earlier. Neighbours alerted police after noticing a foul smell emanating from the house. A team reached the spot late on Monday and recovered the body. Anita Sharma is survived by two children. Her son Anish lives in Pune, while her daughter Nidhi works in Bengaluru. Neighbours alerted family after noticing no activity Neighbours said Anita had not stepped out of the house for the past four to five days. The domestic help would knock at the door and leave after receiving no response. Sensing something was wrong, the neighbours contacted Anita’s brother, who also lives in Gwalior. Her brother, along with his son-in-law’s family, reached the house. When repeated calls and knocks went unanswered, they alerted the police. Officers arrived shortly afterwards and entered the house, where they found Anita’s body. Body found near bathroom; foul smell filled the house When police entered the house, they discovered Anita Sharma’s body lying naked near the bathroom on the first floor. The body was emitting a strong foul smell. A bucket filled with clothes was found nearby, and blood was seen coming from her nose and mouth. Police suspect she may have stepped out of the bathroom after bathing when the incident occurred. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Entering the house proved difficult for the police, as the doors were locked from the inside. After failing to break them open, the police summoned cutters and removed the internal locks one by one. Only after cutting through the locked rooms inside the house were officers able to reach the body.
