In Rewa’s Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, on Saturday evening, a ward boy attempted suicide by pouring petrol on himself after not receiving his one-month pending salary. Ward boy Rahul Sondhia created a ruckus in the hospital premises, threatening to take his own life. However, security guards caught him in time, averting a major accident. After the incident, the company manager deposited the salary into his account. As evening fell, the hospital premises suddenly echoed with screams and commotion. Ward boy Rahul Sondhia arrived in the premises with a bottle of petrol and, pouring petrol on himself in front of everyone, shouted – “Give me my salary otherwise, I will take my life!” This scene terrified the patients’ relatives, guards, and hospital staff. Guards Jumped and Caught Him, Snatched the Bottle
In no time, the entire premises were filled with onlookers, and people started making videos with their mobiles. Meanwhile, Rahul was about to set himself on fire when two security guards jumped on him and caught him. People snatched the petrol bottle from him and brought him under control. For about five minutes, there was an atmosphere of chaos in the hospital. Accused Company of Withholding Salary
Rahul alleges that he works in the hospital through Agile Company. Everyone received their October salary, but his salary was not paid. He complained to the company and hospital management several times, but no action was taken. It was due to this mental stress that he attempted to take this suicidal step. Salary Deposited in Account After Commotion
After this high-voltage drama at the hospital subsided, the company manager personally deposited Rahul’s salary into his account. Superintendent said – it was stuck due to technical reasons of the bank
However, in this matter, Hospital Superintendent Rahul Mishra says that no one’s salary was withheld. He said, “It might be that his salary didn’t come due to some technical reasons of the bank, but taking such a step is wrong.”
