A history-sheeter was beaten to death with sticks in the Lajpatpur area under Sagar’s Kotwali police station. The victim, 40-year-old Sushil Choubey, was attacked on the night of November 25. The brutal assault came to light after a video surfaced on Friday, showing the accused repeatedly hitting him with sticks. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation following the video’s emergence. Incident and hospitalisation According to police, Sushil Choubey, a resident of Bahubali Colony, was walking through a street in Lajpatpur when an argument broke out with some people. The dispute escalated, and Choubey was severely beaten with sticks. He was admitted to a hospital in critical condition, but succumbed to his injuries on November 27. Police reached the scene, conducted a panchnama of the body, and completed the post-mortem before handing it over to the family. Visuals of the incident.. Video shows brutal assault The video that surfaced shows approximately 15 people attacking Sushil Choubey with sticks, with some threatening to break his legs. A youth in the video can also be seen discussing dragging him. The assault appears to have been organised, but the exact motive remains unclear. Family demands action Sushil’s elder brother, Sudhir Choubey, confirmed the brutal beating and demanded strict action against the perpetrators, naming Tulsi Prajapati and others as involved in the assault. Police investigation Kotwali Station In-charge Manish Singhal said that the post-mortem report will confirm the exact cause of death. Police have registered a case and are searching for the accused. Sushil Choubey was a known history-sheeter with nearly two dozen cases registered against him previously, including extortion and assault. Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to the attack.
