After China and the United States, India ranks as the third-largest quick commerce market globally. In 2024, the sector in India reached $5.6 billion (around ₹50,000 crore) and is projected to double to $11 billion (approximately ₹1 lakh crore) by 2030. India’s growth is outpacing its global peers. Between 2025 and 2030, the country’s quick commerce market is expected to expand at a 15.5% CAGR, compared to 7.9% for China and 6.72% for the US. 37% of Global Funding Goes to India In 2024, global funding for quick commerce startups totaled $2.8 billion (about ₹25,000 crore), with India capturing 37% of that share. Leading players such as Zepto, Blinkit, and Swiggy Instamart remain investor favorites. Since 2021, the sector has attracted over $5 billion (roughly ₹45,000 crore) in investments. Quick Commerce Explained Quick commerce refers to ultra-fast delivery, typically within 10–30 minutes, unlike traditional e-commerce platforms like Amazon or Flipkart, which take 1–2 days or longer. This model is rapidly transforming consumer expectations in India. Quick Commerce Users to Reach 230 Million by 2030 As per RedSeer’s report, India had 140 million quick commerce users in 2024, a number expected to rise to 233 million by 2030. While groceries currently account for 70% of the market’s GMV (Gross Merchandise Value), rapid growth is emerging in categories like fashion, electronics, and beauty products. Blinkit CEO Satish N said: “Urban millennials and Gen-Z want items immediately. We are prioritizing not just groceries, but convenience as well.” Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal’s estimate: “Today quick commerce is a $5-6 billion market, growing at a rate of 40-50% every year.
