Gwalior police arrested gangster Kapil Yadav after a brief encounter on Monday morning. He had allegedly carried out a deadly attack on a BJP leader and his brother three days earlier. The operation began around 4 AM when police surrounded the Mela Ground, where Kapil and his associate Aman Yadav were seen. During the chase, police caught Aman, but Kapil managed to escape. Teams continued searching for him through the area. After nearly two hours, police found Kapil near a brick kiln in Mohanpur. As soon as he saw the police, Kapil opened fire with his pistol. Police retaliated, shooting him in the leg. Kapil fell to the ground injured and was immediately arrested. He was taken to the JAH Trauma Centre for treatment. Police said Kapil Yadav is a known criminal involved in land grabbing and extortion. Attack on BJP leader over land dispute SSP Dharmveer Singh said police had been searching for Kapil Yadav and his associates for the past three days in connection with an attack on a BJP leader and his brother during a land dispute in Badagaon, Murar. Early Monday morning, police received information that the accused were roaming in a Wagon R near the Mela Ground. The area was immediately cordoned off. Police arrested Aman Yadav with a pistol, but Kapil managed to flee the spot. CSP Nagendra Singh Sikarwar and TI Murar Maina Patel’s team continued the chase. The encounter took place near a brick kiln in Mohanpur, where Kapil fired multiple rounds at the police. The police retaliated, and after nearly 10 minutes, Kapil was caught. 12 serious cases, ₹10,000 reward Kapil Yadav faces 12 major criminal cases, including murder, attempted murder, and extortion. Police had declared a reward of ₹10,000 on him. Three days ago, he had allegedly tried to forcibly take possession of a BJP leader’s land, even though the case is still in court. When the leader opposed him, Kapil and his group launched a deadly attack, seriously injuring him and his brother. Movie-style firing, brutal assault with sticks and spade BJP leader Puran Singh Bhadauria, 38, originally from Bhind, owns land in Badagaon. Kapil, along with Aman, Amit and Ramu Yadav, wanted to grab this land. On 21 November, when Puran visited the plot with his brother Vinod and a few companions, they found the accused constructing a road with crushed stones to take control of the land. When Puran objected, the accused opened fire in movie-style fashion. They hit Vinod’s leg with a spade, breaking it. Even after this, they continued assaulting the brothers with sticks and clubs.
