State Congress President Jitu Patwari said that the time given for the SIR process in Madhya Pradesh is very short. Because of this, BLOs are under a lot of pressure. He also accused BJP leaders of forcing BLOs to remove names from the voter list. Patwari said that due to this pressure, many cases of BLO deaths and heart attacks are being reported. He also questioned the law and order situation in the state, referring to incidents like the urination case. Pressure on BLOs to remove names increased Patwari said that BLOs are working under immense pressure across Madhya Pradesh. They are being forcibly asked to remove names from the voter list. He claimed that BLOs themselves are troubled by this situation because they fear that if the names of eligible people are removed, action will be taken against them in the future. Due to this, cases of stress, heart attacks, and deaths are increasing. Demand to extend the time for SIR process He said that the Election Commission has given very little time for SIR, whereas this is an extremely sensitive and important process. The Congress has demanded an extension of time in writing from the Commission. Patwari appealed to all Congress leaders to keep a close watch on the SIR process in their respective areas. He said that he himself is also visiting different areas to assess the situation and the Congress will not allow the name of any eligible person to be removed. If there are infiltrators, it’s the government’s failure Patwari said that BJP leaders are continuously stating from platforms that the names of infiltrators should be removed. On this, he questioned that when the BJP government has been at the center for the last 10 years and they have also been in power in the state for a long time, then how did infiltrators get in? He said that this itself shows the failure of the government’s security and administrative system. On the urination incident, he said – no fear of law Upon the emergence of a video of urinating on a disabled youth in Mandideep, Patwari said that the law and order situation in Madhya Pradesh has become very bad. He said that earlier such acts were committed by people associated with BJP, now others have also started doing them, because there is no fear of law left in the state. Patwari said that incidents like repeatedly urinating on a person, attacks on police, murder of policemen, and corruption are continuously increasing. NCRB data also shows that the law and order situation in the state is very bad.
