False Promises and Deception Rohini, a social worker from a Scheduled Caste sanitation worker community, told the Women’s Commission that she met Chandrashekhar Azad, MP from Nagina (U.P.), in 2020. He assured her he was unmarried and seeking a life partner, forming an emotional relationship based on false promises of marriage. Trusting him, she supported his political campaigns and maintained the relationship. Emotional and Physical Exploitation Rohini said that after returning to India, Azad called her to hotels and his Dwarka residence multiple times, where they had physical relations. During the 2022 UP elections, she learned he was married. When confronted, he denied it and threatened suicide if she ended the relationship, also pressuring her by invoking the Bahujan movement.
