IRCTC services will be down on November 22 for maintenance. Indian Railways is doing a major system upgrade, and all online and counter booking services will stay shut for five full hours.
From 11:45 PM on Friday, November 22 to 4:45 AM on Saturday, November 23. Railways says the upgrade is scheduled for night so that maximum passengers face minimum trouble. The new system will make booking faster and more secure in the future. 24 trains cancelled till February end While the system upgrade is just for one night, the real headache is starting from December 1. Dense fog in North India has forced Railways to cancel 24 important long-distance trains for three whole months – December, January and February. Trains going to Patna, Amritsar, Prayagraj, Ambala, Kolkata, Howrah, Ajmer, Kamakhya and many other cities are completely cancelled till February 28, 2026. 28 more trains running short Not just cancellations – 28 other trains will now end their journey before the original destination or will run only 2-4 days a week instead of daily. Millions of passengers travelling from Delhi, Punjab, UP, Bihar, Bengal and Assam will be hit hard this winter. Indian Railways advise to confirm the train status before planning your travel.
