A violent clash occurred late Monday night between 2 jewellery traders at Indore’s Sarafa Chowpati where they ended up in exchanging slaps, punches and even metal tongs during a dispute over a customer. A clip of the incident has since gone viral. The fight began after an argument over who would bring a customer to their shop, quickly escalating into a brawl in the middle of road. Police reached the spot, took both traders to the station, and later sent them to jail. Images of the fight between traders… Traders’ organisation raised questions Notably, after the fight, officials of the Indore Silver-Gold Jewelers Association said that demands regarding issues related to Sarafa Chowpati had been raised before and a committee was also formed in this regard. Despite this, the Chowpati issue has not been resolved yet. Attempt at compromise, police took action Reportedly, police caught both traders and took them to the station. After reaching the station, both started talking about compromise with the police. Sarafa TI Rajkumar Litoria said that two shopkeepers had a dispute in Chhota Sarafa. Both traders wanted to bring customers to their shops. This led to a dispute between them. The TI said, both traders were asking to compromise, but police will not tolerate any kind of peace disturbance in the area. In this case, action has been taken against Kailash Gurjar resident of Janta Colony Bada Ganpati and Dinesh Vyas resident of Shakkar Bazar. Their old records are also being checked. Both have been sent to jail after taking action against them. Chowpati issue still not resolved
