Commercial flights to take-off from Navi Mumbai Airport on Christmas:Akasa’s 1st flight to land from Delhi; Indigo will connect 10 cities; airport to handle 9 crore passengers annually by 2026

Commercial flights at Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) will take off from 25 December 2025. Akasa Air will operate the first flight, which will arrive from Delhi to Navi Mumbai. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated the airport on 8 October, which will become Mumbai’s second major hub and increase connectivity. With capacity similar to Indira Gandhi International Airport, it will handle 90 million (9 crore) passengers by 2026. First Flights Schedule: Starting with Akasa Air Akasa Air’s maiden (first) flight will land from Delhi in Navi Mumbai on 25 December 2025. The Goa route will also start on the same day. Delhi and Kochi will be connected from 26 December, while Ahmedabad flights will commence from 31 December. The company said it will directly connect four cities from NMIA. On the other hand, IndiGo will also add connectivity from 10 cities from 25 December. This includes Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, North Goa (Mopa), Jaipur, Nagpur, Kochi and Mangaluru. Air India Express will also start operations by the end of the year.
