Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Inc has churned its portfolio during the third quarter of the financial year 2025-26, according to the company’s recent regulatory filing. Buffett Bets Bigger on Google Berkshire Hathaway scooped up 17.9 million shares of Alphabet Inc. (Google’s parent company) in Q3. This brings the company’s total holdings to 17.85 million shares, valued at $4.9 billion as of Friday’s market close. Trimming Stakes in Tech Giant Apple While Apple remains Berkshire’s largest stock holding at $60.7 billion (almost a quarter of Berkshire’s equity portfolio), the company reduced its stake in the iPhone maker. Berkshire sold off 41.8 million Apple shares, bringing its total down to 238.2 million shares. This continues a trend of gradually reducing massive Apple holdings. Bank of America Holdings Reduced Berkshire also trimmed its position in Bank of America, selling 37.2 million shares. However, the firm still maintains a significant 7.7% stake in the Wall Street giant, making it Berkshire’s third-largest stock holding. Other Moves: Exiting D.R. Horton The conglomerate completely exited its position in US home builder D.R. Horton Inc. Buffett’s Next Chapter These portfolio adjustments come as Warren Buffett, 95, prepares to step down as CEO at the end of the year. Buffett has been actively seeking opportunities to deploy Berkshire’s substantial $382 billion cash reserves. Recent moves include acquiring Occidental Petroleum Corp’s petrochemical unit for $9.7 billion and taking a $1.6 billion stake in UnitedHealth Group Inc.
