got-himself-kidnapped,-demanded-50-lakh-ransom-from-father:engineer’s-son-in-mandsaur-conspired-with-friends;-had-debt-due-to-business-loss

In Mandsaur, 22-year-old Harshul Jain, son of a PWD engineer, along with his friends, pretended he was kidnapped to demand a ransom of 50 lakh rupees from his family. The police solved the case in less than 24 hours using technical investigation. Shamgarh police said Harshul’s father, engineer Kamal Jain, lives in a government bungalow behind the Circuit House. Kamal Jain filed a complaint on Thursday, saying his son left for Kota around 8 AM but was kidnapped on the way. Around 4 PM, the family received a call from Harshul’s number demanding 50 lakh rupees. Contradiction in mobile location and call details After this information, Mandsaur police immediately became active. Under the direction of SP Vinod Kumar Meena, a special team was formed and the search operation was intensified. Police started investigation based on location in Kota and several areas of Rajasthan. Initially, the case appeared to be a serious kidnapping, but the police found several contradictions in Harshil’s mobile location and call details. When a close friend was caught, the fake kidnapping was exposed During the investigation, the police took Harshul’s closest friend, Ganpat Singh, into custody. Under intense interrogation, Ganpat revealed the truth that changed the direction of the case. He disclosed that Harshul was deeply in debt and, due to financial pressure, he himself planned the kidnapping. His three friends, Ganpat Singh, General Singh (Baloda, Bundi), and Kuldeep Amralia (Chauraya, Bundi), were involved in this conspiracy. He was about to start a cooler mesh manufacturing factory in Kota Ganpat stated that Harshul hoped the family would raise a large ransom amount, which would allow him to repay his debt. Police also found out that Harshul ran an electronics shop in Kota and was preparing to start a factory there to make cooler grilles some time ago. Additionally, he also operated a local indigenous tea shop. Losses incurred in all these ventures and increasing debt pushed him towards this crime. Police Raids in Kota and Bundi in Search of Two Accused Police have taken Harshul and Ganpat into custody and started interrogation, while two other accused, General Singh and Kuldeep Amaralia, are still absconding. Police teams are raiding Kota, Bundi, and surrounding areas in search of them. SP Vinod Kumar Meena stated that preliminary investigation made it clear that Harshul had orchestrated the entire kidnapping. He said that the police are scrutinizing all technical aspects and information related to financial transactions. The absconding accused will also be arrested soon.
