An elderly man found lying on a road in suspicious circumstances in Indore’s Khajrana area on Wednesday night was later confirmed to have been murdered. A passer-by who spotted him informed his son, who immediately suspected foul play; however, the police initially denied any possibility of murder. The truth emerged on Friday after CCTV footage from a nearby under-construction building surfaced, revealing the sequence of events. When the victim resisted, the accused struck him with a stone, killing him. Following the release of the footage, Khajrana police stated that the suspects would be arrested swiftly. The CCTV shows the accused stopping him, attempting to rob him, and then struggling with him. Parmeshwar initially tried to reason with the attacker, urging him to leave, but the miscreant suddenly picked up a stone and struck him on the head before fleeing.At the time, several vehicle drivers had stopped at the spot, and one of them phoned Parmeshwar’s son. Victim was returning home after night shift Parmeshwar’s son, Lokesh, said his father was returning home after finishing his night-duty shift when the incident occurred. He added that he had informed Sub-Inspector Anil Gautam, who was at the scene, about his suspicion of murder, but the officer did not take his concerns seriously. Family took him to hospital, but he was declared dead On Wednesday night, family members took the injured man to MY Hospital, where doctors declared him dead after examination. The family had immediately suspected murder, noting visible head injuries. They told police that he had been found injured near an under-construction building in the lane ahead of their house and was unconscious when discovered.Parmeshwar worked as a labourer.
