A brother-in-law attacked his widowed sister-in-law with acid in Gwalior. The accused was pressuring the woman for marriage. When the victim refused, the brother-in-law threw acid on her. According to police, the accused, Mushir Khan, had wrong intentions towards his 28-year-old widowed sister-in-law, Tarana. Tarana’s husband died 10 months ago. Since then, Mushir Khan has been pressuring her for marriage. After the acid attack, the accused had fled. After an investigation till late at night, police arrested the accused brother-in-law. On Saturday, after interrogation, police produced the accused in court, from where he was sent to jail. Initially, the widowed daughter-in-law had agreed to the nikah, but due to her brother-in-law’s addiction to drugs, she refused to do the nikah last month, which angered the brother-in-law.
