India’s left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav has been released from the ongoing T20I series in Australia to join the India A squad for their second four-day match against South Africa A in Bengaluru. The decision was announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday, just after India’s five-wicket win over Australia in Hobart. According to the BCCI, the move aims to give Kuldeep valuable red-ball match practice ahead of the upcoming two-match Test series against South Africa later this month. The second India A vs South Africa A match begins on November 6 at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. Kuldeep, who has been in good form in white-ball cricket, will now focus on adapting to longer formats. His inclusion in the India A squad allows him to prepare for potential Test selection and maintain rhythm in red-ball conditions. BCCI confirms strategic move “The Indian team management has requested to release Kuldeep Yadav from the ongoing T20I series in Australia to allow him to participate in the India A series against South Africa A,” the BCCI said in a statement. “The decision has been taken to provide Kuldeep with red-ball game time in preparation for the upcoming Test series against South Africa.” India currently trail Australia 1-1 in the five-match T20I series. The team bounced back strongly in the second match, led by Washington Sundar’s explosive unbeaten 49 and Arshdeep Singh’s early breakthroughs, earning India a solid five-wicket win in Hobart.
