As India gears up for the Women’s ODI World Cup final against South Africa at the DY Patil Stadium on Sunday, captain Harmanpreet Kaur said the team is full of energy and determination to end the long wait for a world title. For India, this will be their third World Cup final appearance after finishing runners-up in 2005 and 2017, while South Africa will be playing their first-ever final. Speaking on the eve of the big match, Harmanpreet said the team is not only well-prepared but also emotionally charged after their thrilling semifinal win against Australia. “Our entire team is full of enthusiasm. We feel the pain of losing finals in 2005 and 2017. Now we want to taste victory,” she said. With both teams eyeing their maiden world title, the final promises to be a historic contest. The Indian skipper added that her players have been preparing for this very moment over the last two years, keeping the home conditions in mind. ‘Preparing for this day for two years’ – Harmanpreet Harmanpreet expressed that playing in a World Cup final brings unmatched motivation and pride. “When you are on a stage like the World Cup final, there is no bigger motivation than this.
