A crane fell from an under-construction railway overbridge in Pithampur. The crane collapsed onto two pickup vehicles passing through the service road below. The accident occurred on Friday morning in the Sagor area. Efforts are underway to rescue those trapped underneath. According to reports, the crane was being used to shift a heavy pillar when it suddenly lost balance and fell from the overbridge. Upon receiving information, the Sagor police reached the spot. As iron plates were not placed beneath it, one side of the crane began sinking under the weight. As soon as it lost balance, the crane toppled over. One driver rescued, two still trapped Construction work on the 500-meter-long railway overbridge in Pithampur has been ongoing for three years. The accident occurred around 8:30 a.m. One driver is still seen trapped inside a vehicle, along with a conductor, while the driver of the second vehicle has been rescued. Four ambulances are stationed at the site. Two cranes brought for removal Two additional cranes have been called in to remove the overturned crane. CSP Ravi Sonel, TI Pithampur Rajendra Soni, TI Sagor Prakash Sarode, and two Dial-112 vehicles are present at the site. Tehsildar Shivani Srivastava has also reached the location.
