Truck drivers crossing these routes are now filming the ongoing extortion and exposing the corrupt practices on social media. Khawasa Check post (Seoni): Dhaba guard caught extorting in Uniform A video dated June 12 went viral on social media showing a man in a khaki uniform stopping trucks and collecting money illegally at the Khawasa check post in Seoni district.
Truck drivers caught the man, tied him with a rope and beat him up. The situation turned chaotic, resulting in a few minor truck collisions.
Police later confirmed that the man was not a transport department employee, but a security guard from a nearby dhaba, who had donned a uniform to collect bribes. Mauganj–Hanumana check post: Officer breaks driver’s phone for filming On November 16, 2023, around 6 p.m., truck driver Injamam Mohammad was en route from Coimbatore to Patna in truck RJ 11 GB 9981 when he was stopped at the Hanumana border in Mauganj district.
Officials demanded his documents, to which he replied that the border was officially closed and they could check his documents online. This reportedly angered the RTO officers, who engaged in a heated argument.
When the conductor began filming the confrontation, officials snatched and broke his phone. An inquiry into the incident is ongoing. Drivers arrive in groups; RTO staff flee On October 10, 2025, a group of truck drivers from Mauganj reached the Hanumana check post to confront officials accused of illegal extortion. Upon seeing the drivers arriving together, RTO employees fled the scene. The entire incident was captured on video and later shared widely on social media. A truck driver from Mewat, Aashiq Khan, who is also a YouTuber, filmed the officers collecting bribes.
As soon as he began recording, RTO officials fled in their Scorpio car. Khan uploaded the footage on Facebook, where it has now amassed over 4.5 crore views. When the driver told him the border was officially closed, the official replied, “Check your papers online.”
After a brief argument, the officer removed the barricade and let the truck pass, saying, “You’ve come here just to argue.” Morena check post: Truckers capture extortion live On October 14, truck driver Anees Khan shared a video from the MP–UP border in Morena, showing RTO officers collecting money from passing trucks.
The footage added to the growing list of viral videos revealing rampant bribery across Madhya Pradesh’s transport check posts. NTPC Singrauli: Clash between drivers and transport officials In another incident last week, truck drivers clashed with transport officials inside the NTPC campus in Singrauli.
Videos of the confrontation and scuffles were also uploaded on social media, showing drivers accusing officials of daily harassment and extortion.
Drivers’ union demands action Rudra Pratap Yadav, District President of the All Drivers Welfare Association, Sagar, strongly criticized the system: Some RTO officials and their private agents are acting like goons at these check posts. The exploitation of drivers is constant, and the government seems unwilling to stop it. He added that drivers face harassment and illegal demands daily, even when all their papers are in order. Government announces new checking system In response to widespread criticism, the Madhya Pradesh government has announced plans to establish Road Safety and Enforcement Checking Points under a new system. In the first phase, 45 check posts will be created for official inspection. Until then, mobile enforcement units will monitor vehicle movement. The government issued a notification regarding this new system on Sunday, promising stricter oversight and the elimination of illegal collections.
