Apple’s market cap has crossed $4 trillion (₹353 lakh crore) for the first time. This figure is equivalent to India’s GDP. According to the IMF, India’s GDP is currently $4.13 trillion (₹364 lakh crore). Meanwhile, after Nvidia and Microsoft, Apple is the third company to cross this mark. Nvidia, with a market value of $4.71 trillion (₹415 lakh crore), is the world’s most valuable company. Microsoft is the second most valuable company, with a market cap of $4.06 trillion (₹358 lakh crore). Apple share hits $4 trillion market cap after iPhone 17 launch On October 28, Apple’s stock reached a day high of $269.87, pushing the company’s market capitalization past $4 trillion for the first time. Currently, the stock trades at $268.51 (₹23,698), down 0.11%. The rise comes after the launch of the iPhone 17 series on September 9. Since then, Apple shares have gained 15%, up from $234 (₹20,653) at the time of launch. The company’s stock, which started the year in the negative, is now in positive territory. iPhone 17 sales outperform previous model Counterpoint Research reports that iPhone 17 sales in the US and China were 14% higher than the previous generation. Brokerages such as Evercore ISI expect the September quarter results to exceed expectations and anticipate strong forecasts for December. AI concerns weigh on stock Apple has faced pressure in the AI space, as its AI strategy remains unclear. While the Apple Intelligence Suite and ChatGPT integration have launched, Siri’s AI upgrade is delayed until next year. Several senior AI executives have moved to Meta, and Apple is exploring partnerships with Alphabet’s Gemini, Anthropic, and OpenAI. Analyst John Zaccarelli noted, “The AI strategy is not clear, which burdens the stock. If Apple launches an AI feature that excites consumers, it could transform the company’s outlook.” Apple posted strong results in the April-June quarter, achieving double-digit growth across all segments.
