Madhya Pradesh’s Dewas Police, in collaboration with Dhar Police, solved a sensational theft case involving cash money worth ₹1.25 crore within just 24 hours, the police reported on Monday. Acting swiftly, the joint police team arrested the accused from Dharampuri and recovered the entire stolen amount. Police cracking down on organised crimes under DGP’s supervision As per a statement released by the Madhya Pradesh Police Headquarters (PHQ), under the direction of state’s Director General of Police (DGP) Kailash Makwana, the Madhya Pradesh Police has been consistently executing strong operations against organised crimes and major theft cases across the state. Cash was stolen during bus journey According to Dewas police, on October 25, 2025, complainant Ashish Gupta, a jewellery trader from Chhatarpur, had sent his accountant Nitesh Kumar Sen to Dewas by bus carrying ₹1.25 crore in cash for business transactions. During the journey, unidentified miscreants stole the bag containing the money near Pappu Pappu Resort, located under the jurisdiction of Sonkatch Police Station. The thieves, who executed the theft with precision, fled the scene in a Mahindra vehicle. Recognising the gravity of the incident, senior officials immediately directed special teams to begin investigation. Tech-based probe leads to arrest Using technical evidence, CCTV footage, and informant intelligence, Dewas Police swiftly traced the suspects’ movements. The analysis pointed towards Dhar district, specifically the Dharampuri area. Acting on this lead, a joint operation was launched with Dhar Police, resulting in the arrest of Namdar (35 years), a resident of Manawar in Dhar district. Police recovered the entire cash money (₹1.25 crore) from the possession of the accused. The city’s senior police officials described the operation as a model example of coordinated teamwork, quick response, and advanced technical investigation, reinforcing public confidence in law enforcement.
