Two brothers were murdered in a land dispute in Shahdol on Tuesday, October 21, the day after Diwali. A video of the attack surfaced on Friday, showing the assailants beating three brothers with guns, axes, and sticks. Two brothers died, while the third remains hospitalised in serious condition. The incident occurred in Balbahra village, Budhar police station area. Rahul Tiwari and Rakesh Tiwari had gone to their shop to light lamps on the second day of Diwali when Anurag Sharma and 21 companions attacked them. Rakesh Tiwari died on the spot, while Rahul Tiwari was taken to Medical College Shahdol in serious condition and later died. The third brother, Satish Tiwari, remains hospitalised. Before his death, Rahul identified the attackers and described the incident on camera. Police have arrested seven people, including main accused Anurag Sharma, while a search for 15 others continues.
