25-year-old Ajay Saket died while undergoing treatment at Sidhi District Hospital. His family alleges that Ajay’s oxygen supply pipe burst and he was given the wrong injection. They say Ajay drove his bike to the hospital around 9 pm on Thursday night for treatment of a fever, but died within five hours of admission. The angry family blocked the road in front of the hospital mortuary, placing the body on the road. Shiv Sena workers and civilians also joined the protest, raising slogans against the hospital management. Ajay’s lips and face had begun to dry due to the injection. Deepak Saket, the deceased’s brother, said that after eating dinner at home yesterday, he rode his bike to the district hospital and consulted a doctor. Dr. Amit Singh simply wrote a prescription and left. The nurses then administered the injections. My brother’s lips and face began to dry up after that. They took him to the second floor and put him on oxygen, but the oxygen pipe was broken and leaking, which resulted in his death. He had been suffering from a fever for two or three days, so he went there for treatment. When we complained about this negligence, we received no satisfactory response from the hospital administration. He had become a father two days earlier. Ajay, a resident of Muthigama village in Sidhi, was a Shiv Sena worker. The family had been blessed with a baby boy two days earlier when Ajay’s wife gave birth to a son at Banjari Hospital. The couple’s eldest son is two years old. CMHO did not respond When contacted, CMHO Dr. Babita Khare stated that the matter was being investigated. She did not comment on the doctor’s absence or the oxygen pipe malfunction. Shiv Sena warned of agitation Shiv Sena State Vice President Vivek Pandey described the incident as living proof of the district hospital’s callousness. He said, “The absence of a responsible doctor, a broken oxygen pipe, and the wrong injection devastated a family. If strict action is not taken against the culprits, Shiv Sena will take to the streets and launch a fierce agitation.” The tube was placed, but the oxygen was leaking. Shiv Sena State Vice President Vivek Pandey said that the district hospital provides no treatment for the poor and low-income people. Corruption is rampant here. He walked to the district hospital on his own, but was given paracetamol and four other injections. After receiving an overdose, he felt uneasy and was taken to the oxygen room. The team of doctors placed the tube, but the oxygen was leaking. He was completely ill.
