Telangana student going to become sadhvi heads to Kashi:Wearing saffron dress, boards in wrong train, gets off in MP; says, ‘I am married to Shiva’

A 16-year-old nursing student from Khammam district, Telangana, set out on October 19 to become a Sadhvi in Varanasi. Dressed in saffron attire, she accidentally boarded the Jaipur-bound train instead of her intended route. She was intercepted by railway police at Khandwa station in Madhya Pradesh, where the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) took her under their care. Deep devotion and spiritual aspirations During counseling with the CWC, the girl shared her strong spiritual inclination and devotion to Lord Shiva. She revealed that she follows women who have already embraced the Sadhvi path on social media and is deeply immersed in spiritual content online. She even claimed to have married Lord Shiva in a temple ceremony. Praveen Sharma, chairman of the CWC, stated that the girl expressed a profound faith in Sanatan Dharma and spirituality. The committee guided her on the importance of parental guidance, emphasizing that devotion should not come at the cost of family ties. She later agreed to return home with her parents, with advice to consider her spiritual journey after reaching adulthood. Family reacts with shock Before leaving home, the student left a letter for her maternal family explaining her wish to become a Sadhvi and pursue spiritual peace. Her mother, reading the letter, fell seriously ill and had to be admitted to a hospital. Upon learning of her daughter’s disappearance, her father, who lives separately, immediately flew from Telangana to Indore and then proceeded to Khandwa to meet her. At the one-stop center: Spiritual routine and diet After arriving at the Khandwa station on October 20, the student was handed over to the CWC, which sent her to the One-Stop Center. During her stay, she demanded a Sattvic diet, which included okra curry and Roti, reflecting her preference for pure, spiritual meals. For two days, she recited mantras and engaged in prayer for Lord Shiva. On October 21, her father arrived in Khandwa, where the CWC verified her statements and intentions. The girl reiterated her desire to embrace the spiritual path, with no other reasons cited for leaving home. Before returning home, she requested to visit Lord Mahakal in Ujjain, which her father facilitated. Background and Education The student is a trainee at a nursing college and receives a stipend. Her parents live separately, and she has lived apart from her father for the past 12 years. She researched the process of becoming a sadhvi online and formally documented her plan in a letter before attempting her journey to Kashi, intending to undergo initiation at a monastery.
