In Amrit Bharat Express (16601), disposable plates and food boxes taken from dustbins were being washed and prepared for reuse. The incident came to light when a passenger traveling from Katni to Satna recorded a video of the pantry car staff handling used disposables. Passenger records incident Ravi Dwivedi, a resident of Satna who works in Shahdol, was traveling from Katni to Satna. Due to lack of reservation, he was standing near the pantry car when he noticed an employee taking out used plates and boxes from the dustbin and washing them in a wash basin. Ravi captured the entire process on his phone. Employee claims cost-saving practice When questioned, the pantry car employee said that disposable plates and boxes were returned at half price, which is why they were washed and reused. The employee also protested when Ravi started recording and allegedly threatened him to delete the video. Video goes viral, contractor offers bribe Ravi shared the video with his social worker friend, Pankaj Shukla, who posted it on social media tagging the Railway Ministry. Following the viral post, the Railway Ministry contacted Pankaj to gather details of the incident. Meanwhile, Ravi received a call from the pantry car contractor, who allegedly offered ₹25,000 to withdraw the complaint. Ravi refused to accept the offer, insisting on proper action against the malpractice.
