A shameful incident took place during the Youth Festival at Government College in Bhanpura, Mandsaur district, on Tuesday. Four male students secretly took photos and videos from a door’s ventilator while female students were changing clothes for the event. When the girls realized what was happening, they raised an alarm and complained to Acting Principal Dr. Preeti Pancholi. Taking the matter seriously, the principal checked the CCTV footage, which clearly showed the four students behaving suspiciously. Dr. Pancholi then filed a written complaint with the Bhanpura Police. A case has been registered against three identified students and one unknown student, and the police have started investigating the incident. Three students arrested, fourth absconding Station in-charge Rameshchand Dangi said that the accused include Umesh Joshi (22) resident of Prempuria – City Minister, ABVP, Ajay Gaud (21) resident of Village Kanwala – City Co-College Head, ABVP, Himanshu Bairagi (20) resident of Village Sanada, Worker, ABVP. All three were arrested and presented in court, from where they were bound over and sent to Garoth sub-jail. Search for the fourth accused is ongoing. Station in-charge Dangi said that if these videos or photos had gone viral on social media, it could have seriously affected the private lives of the female students. ABVP District Coordinator Chandrarajsinh Panwar said that the organization has initiated an investigation at the district committee level. He said that “The room where the incident is being reported had been closed for a long time. Discussions have been held with the Principal and TI, the situation will be clear after the report comes.” NSUI protests and demands strict action
NSUI District President Ritik Patel said, “ABVP’s conduct, character and face has been exposed again. Such acts at sacred places like temples of education are highly condemnable. If strict action is not taken against the accused, NSUI will launch an intense agitation.”
