Angry farmers in Lahar staged a protest on Monday in front of the Cooperative Marketing Society over delays in receiving DAP and urea fertilizers. Despite having tokens for the fertilizers for more than a week, the farmers said they had yet to receive their supplies. Road blockade and protest Frustrated by the delay, farmers sat on the road for nearly one hour, blocking traffic. The protest included both men and women from multiple villages in the Lahar region. Farmers raised slogans against the administration and demanded immediate delivery of fertilizers, as the sowing season is fast approaching. Administration steps in Tehsildar Deepak Kumar Shukla and Lahar Police Station In-charge TI Shiv Singh Yadav arrived at the scene with a police team. They explained that the DAP and urea stocks had reached Lahar, and the measurement and packaging process was being completed on Monday. The Tehsildar assured farmers that distribution would begin from Tuesday, following which the protestors peacefully dispersed.
