A 14-year-old boy, Ansh, went missing in the Narmada river near Sohagpur in Shahdol while trying to make a reel. Despite 36 hours of search, he has not been found. The SDRF team continues rescue operations on Monday. Incident at Navalpur bridge Ansh, from Budhar police station area, had gone with friends to the Navalpur Son River bridge. The group tied a rope made from cloth to a stone on the bridge. They descended into the river’s strong current to shoot a reel. See two pictures of the incident – Ansh swept away Ansh also went down the rope, but his hand slipped. The strong current carried him away. His friends could only watch and could not save him. They informed Sohagpur police immediately after the accident. Rescue operation underway Sohagpur police station in-charge, Bhupendra Mani Pandey, said police and the SDRF reached the river as soon as they got information. A 4-second video of the accident was recorded on Ansh’s friends’ mobile phones. Police are investigating using the footage. Search faces challenges SDRF in-charge, Sub-Inspector Komal Singh, said the strong current is making the search difficult. The team has searched approximately 30 kilometres of the river so far. The operation is ongoing, with rescue teams working continuously.
