A day after Ratan Tata’s death anniversary, a meeting of Tata Trusts’ trustees will be held on 10 October 2025. This is the first board meeting after government intervention in the ongoing trust dispute between the Tata and Shapoorji Pallonji Groups However, according to media reports, there is less likelihood of a discussion on any controversial issues related to the governance or board leadership in this meeting. Funds related to healthcare projects may be approved in the meeting. It is believed that the meeting atmosphere will remain calm after direct intervention from the central government. Meeting already held at Amit Shah’s house on 7 October Amid the controversy over Tata Sons’ board seat, senior leadership had a 45-minute meeting at Home Minister Amit Shah’s residence on 7 October. According to a report, the government said that domestic disputes should be resolved quickly so that the company is not affected. Home Minister Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman along with Tata Trusts Chairman Noel Tata, Vice-Chairman Venu Srinivasan, Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran and Trustee Darius Khambata attended the meeting. Currently there are 4 vacant seats on the Tata Sons board. The board includes Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Noel N Tata, Venu Srinivasan, Harish Manwani and Saurabh Agarwal. Tata Sons’ market value till March 2024 was ₹27.85 lakh crore. The entire group’s value is around ₹15.9 lakh crore. High-level sources familiar with recent developments indicate that Tata Trusts and Tata Sons are ready to offer SP Group a 4-6% stake dilution in Tata Sons. If this deal goes through, SP Group will get money to repay its debts. This group currently has debt of around ₹30,000 crore.
